Milestones in Parenthood

Wow! it's been a long time since I posted, but some things must be written down for posterity and this is one of them.

At almost 4 1/2 years old to the day, Avi has requested that I read the Hobbit to him. I've been looking forward to this day since he was born and, I have to admit, I'm a bit surprised that it's come so soon. I wasn't expecting this until he was at least 6.

Hopefully, we'll actually make it through the whole book but I'll just take it a chapter at a time. So far it's one down, many to go.

I would be remiss if I didn't thank Phil Vischer for this opportunity. It was Veggie Tales' Lord of the Beans (and Avi's current interest in spooky stories - goblins, dragons, trolls and giant spiders were a pretty big hook) that got the ball rolling. I wouldn't recommend Lord of the Beans, by the way. As far as Veggie Tales go it's one of the weakest. Avi likes it, though. But he's only 4...
